I. Introduction
The computer asphalt softening point tester(Ring-and-Ball apparatus) measures the softening point of the viscous petroleum pitch according to the ring and ball method. The instrument is suitable for the determination of softening points of various asphalts such as road petroleum asphalt, coal asphalt and liquid petroleum asphalt, and is the preferred instrument for highway and bridge construction and research institutions.
The instrument adopts microcomputer CPU control, infrared scanning detection, linear heating, and magnetic stirrer, which fully complies with the national testing standards ASTM D36 and GB/T4508-2010 Asphalt Duct Measurement Method and the Ministry of Communications Industry Standard T0606-2011 Asphalt Softening Point Test (Ring-and-ball method) requirements. The instrument has advantages of simple test procedure, automation, digitization, high measurement accuracy and wide range.
